Titanic (1997) A seventeen-year-old aristocrat, expecting to be married to a rich claimant by her mother, falls in love with a kind but poor artist aboard the luxurious, ill-fated R.M.S. Titanic.
Oh, Titanic. As overwrought and teased as the film is now, it’s hard to deny its epic status. With a big budget and even bigger aspirations, the film mostly cashes its own cheque. The cinematography is lovely, the music a perfect accompaniment and Leo and Kate are well, the Leo and Kate you want and remember. Equal parts gorgeous and smart and in-love. It’s earned its classic epic status. 7/10.
inspired by this post: “Stefan stated that the last 146 years of his life has been ruled by the pain of being a vampire. Daily reminder that he’s a 165 year old vampire right now, which means that he left out the 2 years of being with Elena, because in those years he truly was the happiest he’s been in all of his vamp years.” (x)
